June 2026 Development Update
A new Privacy Policy page, several team-racing reliability fixes, and the first iOS crash-reporting rollout.
A new Privacy Policy page
We published a public Privacy Policy at /privacy, fixing a broken link from the Stripe billing portal and our Terms page that previously 404’d. The policy was rewritten to accurately reflect our real data practices and vendor list (Supabase, Vercel, Stripe, Postmark, Apple Push, HubSpot, PostHog, Google Analytics, Sentry, and others). We also corrected our legal entity name to “Telltale Holdings LLC” across the Terms and policy pages.
Team racing: creation reliability
Organizers were occasionally hitting “duplicate” errors when adding teams or bulk-uploading boats, even though the records had actually been created — caused by network retries re-submitting the same request. Team and boat creation are now idempotent, so retries no longer produce spurious errors, and any real errors are now shown to you instead of failing silently. Team listings also load noticeably faster now that sailors are fetched in parallel.
Team racing: new tools
A spreadsheet-style “Quick add” tool lets organizers paste in a list of team names or abbreviations to create many teams at once, and it’s now available right on the in-event Teams tab, not just the separate Manage Teams page. We fixed a bug where the Swiss boat-groups setup screen showed “0 / N boats” even though boats existed. This month also added DNF/DNS/DSQ finish statuses in team-racing scoring, an optional boat color field in quick-add, automatic team-abbreviation generation to avoid name collisions, better boat-number allocation for Swiss rotations and template uploads, and team names now display as plain text — no more badge clutter — in standings and results.
Fleet racing & scoring
We fixed a bug where races published from the iOS app could save with zero points because scoring wasn’t calculated server-side; publishing from iOS now produces correct standings using the same scoring engine as the web app. The fleet schedule now shows live top-3 standings for in-progress races, and browsing past fleet events is faster and paginated.
Notifications & iOS
Push notifications are now opt-out by default, and you can manage both push and in-app notification preferences. Tapping a notification on iOS now opens the full notice or announcement detail instead of a stub, and announcements deliver faster after publishing. iOS also gained Sentry-based crash and error reporting, helping us catch and fix app issues faster.
