May 2026 Development Update
Three release waves this month, headlined by full Swiss-format team racing support and a run of iOS and platform reliability work.
Team racing gets a major upgrade
Swiss-format team racing is now fully supported end to end: round creation, pairings, and scoring, including safe handling when multiple races are created at once. Organizers can upload their own rotation sheets (xlsx/csv) — including Morgan Cup and Jackson Cup style formats — and save them as reusable per-regatta templates through a new 3-step upload wizard with boat reconciliation. If you don’t have your own sheet, you can start from a bundled example template instead. Rotation templates work across team racing, match racing, and Swiss League, including Gold/Silver fleet splits.
Late in the month we added a Resail workflow: organizers can now officially re-score a finished Swiss race (distinct from a silent edit), with the original result preserved and a “Resailed” badge and audit trail visible to competitors, plus a “Regenerate next round” button so an already-created round isn’t silently re-paired. Sponsor logo walls, previously fleet-only, now also appear on team and match-racing public pages. A live, real-time “Live Results” feed was added for team and match racing on iOS, showing recently finished races and a live indicator while racing is underway.
Scoring fixes
Several scoring accuracy issues were corrected this month: SCP/RDG penalties now only adjust points and never move a boat’s finishing position; CUSTOM/SCP and RDG-with-time now produce correct elapsed and corrected times; race-day editors can change a race’s date, not just its time; and pursuit races now rank by actual line-honors finish order instead of double-applying the handicap, with non-finishers (RET/DNS) properly recorded instead of silently dropped. A DGM scoring discrepancy was also fixed everywhere it appeared, so displayed and stored standings always agree.
Other new features
New users are now only asked for full profile details at their first registration rather than at signup. Visitors can browse /admin and /my-events without logging in, with action buttons prompting sign-in when needed. Admins can edit a participant’s email directly on an entry registration. “Sign in with Apple” was added to the web login page. A new activity feed with a follow graph was introduced. And a new free billing tier lets organizers who don’t collect entry fees use RegattaHub at no cost, with a clearer confirmation step before being sent to Stripe for paid setups.
iOS app
Reopening team-racing screens is now near-instant instead of showing a multi-second spinner. We fixed an App Store rejection over missing iPad orientation support, added a forgot-password option, fixed a blank Schedule screen, and resolved several crash bugs.
Reliability, worth flagging to support
Early in the month we fixed a stability issue where a transient team-racing error was blanking the entire admin page — it now shows a dismissable warning instead. A shared-lock fix stopped a 401/429 “storm” that could lock users out after their session idled. A missing configuration causing widespread /api/v1/* errors in production was fixed at the root cause. And a stale-cache bug where deleted races kept reappearing in lists on both web and iOS was resolved.
